How to Restart My New HP Pavilion zv5000
Permalink

The HP Pavilion zv5000 is an AMD Athlon-powered notebook originally released in 2004. The HP notebook originally came with Windows XP installed as the operating system. Windows XP allows you several different ways to restart your system. Sometimes the operating system becomes overloaded or has a strange conflict that freezes the entire computer. In that case, you will need to force a restart. In some instances, all you can do is shut down your computer completely and then restart it.

          * 1

            Click "Start," and then click "Shutdown." Then click "Restart." Click "OK" to complete the restart.
          * 2

            Hold down "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Del" on your HP Pavilion ZV5000 keyboard black US layout to bring up the task manager. Click "Shutdown" from the menu, and select "Restart." Click "OK" to complete the restart. This is useful if your system is frozen, and you cannot access the regular Start menu.
          * 3

            Press and hold down the power button on your zv5000 for five seconds and then release. The power button is located on the top left above the HP Pavilion zv5000 Keyboard. This will force the laptop to power down. Once it turns off, wait 15 seconds and press the power button to restart the system. This should only be done if the system is completely frozen and you cannot restart Windows through the operating system.
          * 4

            Turn the laptop over and slide the battery release latch located on the bottom center of the laptop base. Remove the battery on the bottom left side. Wait 30 seconds, then replace the battery and power up your system again. This is the last option that should be used.
